Finale composition

Finale composition

To create the piece that would be distinguishable from others I decided to make it in the deferent way. Firstly, I only used two sounds such as tenor saxophone and gamelan. Secondly I aimed to create a varied and interesting piece that would explore the potential and varieties of sound. That was achieved by manipulating a basic and limited sound.

The most important issue while creating the piece was to maintain its perfect form. The piece begins with saxophone solo that is the first theme of the piece, followed by a rhythmical figure, which is gamelan.  The form of the piece is A, B, A. In the section B, I used some effects like Ixi quarks pro, and twenty-century techniques as reveres. I also tried to introduce the original sound as gamelan and saxophone to help listener understand the origin of theme. Finally. A motif from the first theme appears and ends up the piece.

Personally I think the form is the biggest advantage of that work.

Robert Normandeau

February 15th, 2009 by oikhatabene in Uncategorized · No Comments

i had a look to Robert Normandeau, is one of the best composer, studied in quebec, one of his work which i was influenced with is Clair de terre, one of his famous album, the idea i was interested at is the pictures of the earth taken from the space which gives you an idea of nature sound that stays in your mind,

if you listen to the overture which is the introduction, you can listen to  sound of the nature which it appears in several time with a deferent techniques example we can hear the sound goes a round the speakers,

Clair de terre is build up with a cinematic structure as the title of each movement reveals.

how to use the faders

February 12th, 2009 by oikhatabene in Uncategorized · No Comments

We set up the equipment, we learn which speaker is which compared to mixer, we studied some techniques of how to use sound round the speakers, we have a low speakers as we know and we have a high speakers. A class mate brought CD “clarinet threads” and we used some of techniques as the sound goes a round the room, and also we use the faders setup, how is set up, and also we learn that we can set up the number of faders as we wish, we can choose 1234 or 1243, to make the sound goes a round. This is to make it easier for the performer. There is a very important point as you are performing and using this technique, when the sound goes on silence we have to make sure that is only fader is up, which mean you expecting the sound to come from only one speaker, then you know what you are expecting as a sound, then you move it a round or do what ever you want to do it. When you change the faders we have to make sure before you bring the fader down you need to put the next fader up before bringing previous down, We also have been asked to find a composer of our choice and do some research and bring a piece to class to listen to it.
